  • How can I purchase a gift voucher?
    • BBQ School GIFT VOUCHERS can be purchased ONLINE here Book Now or by phone 1300 227 745 or at a class.

  • I have an existing voucher, but the code doesn't work.
    • For those who have held onto their vouchers due to COVID-19, please be aware that we extended a grace period post-pandemic for all customers to redeem their vouchers at the original value. However, if you wish to use your retained vouchers, please note that they will be honored, but you may be required to cover any price difference for the class. If you possess a voucher from one of our third-party suppliers, you may need to redeem it on their platform so that your booking can be forwarded to us. Below, you can find the contact information for our primary third-party suppliers:

      • I can’t attend the class I booked in for, can I change the date?
        • NSW, QLD & ACT Classes:
          • Over 7 Days (168 hours prior to the class time) Notice: No charge for rescheduling your booking.
          • 7 Days to Within 72 hours (prior to the class time) Notice: $50 per person for rescheduling your booking. A replacement person can attend.
          • Within 24 hours of the day of your Session: Your ticket is forfeited, and you cannot reschedule your booking. A replacement person can attend.
          • No-Shows and Late Arrivals: Participants forfeit their experience and are not entitled to a refund or to re-book. Participants are advised to make their own insurance provisions in case of unforeseen circumstances.
        • VIC Classes:
          • Over 48 hour’s Notice (prior to the class time): No Charge of Cancellation and Rebooking Fee
          • Within 48 hours (prior to the class time): Your ticket is forfeited, and you cannot reschedule your class.
        • WA Classes:
          • Changes made four or more days before class are fine.
          • Changes made two to three days before class will incur a $79 per person fee but are able to rebook
          • Changes made the day before class will not be entitled to a refund or rebook. You are welcome to gift your spot to someone else.
          • No-shows and late arrivals will forfeit their class experience and will not be entitled to a refund or rebook
        We are reasonable people and want you to have the best experience so just talk to us and we can usually work something out.

         

        • I booked into an upcoming class but how do I change it?
          • To avoid any cancellation or rescheduling fees, please contact BBQ School via email at info@bbqschool.com.au or call us at 1300 227 745 at least 7 days before the scheduled class date and time. Alternatively, you can reach out to us at your earliest convenience. We will be happy to move you to the next available session.
          • If the class was booked under the name of the person who provided you with the voucher, please call or email us to update your details in our system.
        • How can I pay for my class or voucher?
          • BBQ School accepts payment for all vouchers and class bookings by; credit card, direct deposit and cash. 
        • How do I get my voucher?
          • BBQ School gift vouchers and class vouchers will are issued as e-vouchers, in a printable PDF attachment. An automated email containing your e-voucher is forwarded to your nominated email address once the payment has been processed successfully.  From this email, you will be able to print off a gift voucher to give to the person who is receiving the present. 
        • How long are the vouchers valid?
          • BBQ School gift vouchers and class vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and hold their value within that period. Should the customer not redeem their voucher within the 12-month validity period and the product prices have increased, they will be required to pay the difference.
          • According to Australian law, the monetary value of the voucher remains valid for 3 years from the date of purchase and can be redeemed against another class voucher or any product for up to 36 months. The expiry date will be clearly listed on your voucher.
          • Please note that open class vouchers (class vouchers) and retail vouchers can only be redeemed once.
        • My voucher has expired (after 3 years), can I still use it?
          • The short answer is no; however, exceptions may be made at the discretion of management, depending on the circumstances and the customer's approach. In such cases, a fee of $25 would apply for a 3-month extension.
        • Can I give someone else my voucher?
          • Yes, BBQ School is happy to transfer the gift voucher or class vouchers into another name, if the purchaser or recipient gives permission.
          • Please contact BBQ School to organize the transfer the ownership.
        • Can I pay for my class on the day?
          • No, payment is to be made in advance to secure the booking, your booking cannot be confirmed until full payment is made.
        • Will you send me a reminder before the class? 
          • BBQ School will send reminder emails to the purchaser (or student if different) at least two days before each class. You must ensure that it is your email address we hold, not the person who gave you the voucher.
        • Can I get a refund on my voucher or class booking?
          • Refunds are not available. BBQ School is happy to transfer the class booking into another name if the purchaser or original persons booked give permission.
        • Do you ever cancel classes?
          • BBQ School strives to conduct all scheduled classes. However, there are rare instances where the class may not proceed due to insufficient bookings or circumstances beyond our control (such as double bookings, total fire bans, heatwaves, extreme rain, or hazards).
              In such cases, BBQ School will promptly notify all students in advance and offer to
              transfer their booking to another class and date.
              • Will you still run classes if there is a fire ban?
                • BBQ School endeavours to run all classes scheduled. The classes which are conducted on gas BBQ’s will run during a fire ban. However, when a total fire ban is in place, we are unable to run the American smoking BBQ Class or classes with solid fuel. This class uses ignited charcoal and wood to cook during the class.
                • BBQ School will contact all students affected before the class start time to offer to transfer their booking to another class and date. This contact may come on the day of a class depending on when the fire ban is put in place.
              • I have a food allergy/special dietary requirement, do I need to let you know?
                • Yes, we kindly request that customers with food allergies or specific dietary requirements notify us at the time of booking or the latest 72 hours prior to the class date/ time. While we make every effort to accommodate these needs within our existing menu, please understand that we may not always be able to fulfill all requests. As our classes involve a group setting, customizing menus for individual dietary restrictions can disrupt the flow of the class and recipe execution. However, we may offer an alternative dining option for an additional:
                  • NSW, QLD, ACT: $10 supplementary cost, subject to availability and feasibility
                  • VIC and WA: $20 supplementary cost, subject to availability and feasibility
              • What time do I need to arrive for my class?
                • To ensure the smooth running of our classes, we kindly request that you arrive promptly 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. We ask that you do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes before the class begins.
                • In the event that a student arrives late, it is their responsibility to catch up with the rest of the class and minimize any disruption caused upon entering.
              • How long are the classes?
                    • NSW, QLD, VIC, ACT: all of our classes run for 3 hours.
                    • WA: all of our classes run for 4 hours.
                  • Do I need to bring anything with me to the class?
                    • No, all you will need is a big appetite! We supply all food, equipment, aprons and reference material.
                  • What sort of shoes do I wear? 
                    • We require all participants to wear covered shoes.
                  • Class Times
                    • Our Cooking Classes are held at different time frames depending on the day of the week and location. In effect we can run them at any time and do so however our public scheduled classes are:
                      • Weekday classes are usually held between 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
                      • Weekend classes are usually held (depending on the class type) between:
                        • Morning Sessions: 10:30 AM- 1:30 PM/ 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM
                        • Afternoon Sessions: 2:00 PM- 5:00 PM / 3:00 PM-6:00 PM

                    • Our venues are open and welcome to receive anyone that wants to enjoy and learn some cooking skills.
                    • Our Hunter Valley & Centennial Park locations are 100% wheelchair friendly.
